Pyrography is the art of using fire or heat by burning the surface of a wood to various depths of brown to make a picture. giving a similar effect of a pen & ink drawing. "Pyro" means fire "graph" means art in greek. This form of art was originally called poker art. It is also knowm as " woodburning" Pyrography is very versatile because it can create designs in wood, leather, paper, gourds and other materials using heated tools that burn the surface. Every stroke is drawn entirely by hand, making each piece of art original and unique.
